Position: Lab Supervisor
Department: Lab
Shift: Full Time – Afternoons
PURPOSE
The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, analyzing, and interpreting lab results in an accurate and timely fashion, uses proper safety precautions.
The above statement reflects the principle functions of a Laboratory Supervisor and does not contain the work requirements that may be inherent to the job. This position may require other related duties and activities as assigned by the Laboratory Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
An associate degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological) or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience defined by CLIA,
Or
A bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Certification as an MLT, MT, or MLS by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Certification Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or similar organization is highly desirable but not required. If certified, proof of recertification should include member ID and expiration date.
